The library is one of the smallest branches of the KJM and provides basic lending and information services to readers of all ages. It offers the general public a high quality book collection (fiction and educational literature for children and young people as well as adult readers), as well as audiobooks, toys and didactic aids from the Lekotéka project, board games, umbrellas and glasses. Through the online catalogue, it provides readers with access to articles in electronic form and allows them to borrow and download e-books. The branch cooperates with local kindergartens and primary schools, to whom it offers educational programmes. In 2013, the branch was reopened and in 2014 it received the award of the Best Library of the South Moravian Region for the Brno-city district.
The support of the Brno-Chrlice district town hall and the helpfulness of the Centre of Social Services for the Visually Impaired, with which the branch closely cooperates and which has become its new headquarters, contributed to the reopening of the branch. The branch uses the exchange fund, which also offers new titles. The purchase of the exchange fund is financed by the South Moravian Region's subsidy for the performance of regional library functions in the South Moravian Region.
