Komín

The library is one of the smaller branches of the KJM and provides basic lending and information services to readers of all ages. It is housed in a nursing home and is part of the KJM automated library network. It is located near a park with a children's playground in the neighbourhood of the Brno-Komín district town hall. It offers a good collection of books, magazines, CDs with spoken word, toys and didactic aids from the Lekotéka project, umbrellas and glasses. Through an on-line catalogue, it makes articles available in electronic form, and allows downloading and borrowing e-books. It cooperates with local kindergartens and primary schools (implements educational programmes) and is involved in projects to promote children's reading. It organises cultural and educational events, competitions, exhibitions and concerts for the public.

The branch uses an exchange fund that also offers new titles. The purchases of the exchange fund are financed from the subsidy of the South Moravian Region for the performance of regional functions of libraries in the South Moravian Region. Thanks to the financial subsidy of the Brno-Komín district town hall, the permanent collection is annually supplemented with new and bestselling titles.
